The Decision Making Theater HEC
Ambition
Create a real-time decision-evaluation space available to students, professors, and corporate partners.
The objective is to anticipate and visualize the direct repercussions and impacts of decisions on complex, large-scale challenges.
The Decision Making Theater is an immersive and collaborative space designed to transform the way collective decisions are made.
Located at the heart of the future HEC Campus, the Decision Making Theater embodies the unique strength of HEC Paris: bringing together research, teaching, and diverse organizations to address the major challenges of our time — and fostering continuous pedagogical innovation.
In this space, technology, academic disciplines, and human insight converge to explore complex scenarios, understand the impacts of our choices, and build sustainable solutions collectively and responsibly.
The Decision Making Theater is not a simple projection room:
it is an experiential environment where participants dive into 360° interactive and visual worlds simulating real situations — economic, social, ecological, or strategic.
Using data-visualization tools, dynamic simulations, and approaches grounded in behavioral sciences, each participant can:
• Explore the consequences of their decisions in a safe environment,
• Collaborate in real time with other stakeholders,
• Test different strategies, observe their effects, and adjust consciously.
The HEC Decision Making Theater is designed as a bridge between research, pedagogy, and action.
Each session helps participants gain perspective, understand interdependencies, reflect on how we make decisions — and learn how to make better decisions, together.
FROM IDEA TO ACTION
Investing in the Decision Making Theater means contributing to the creation of an exceptional tool for training and research on decision-making, located at the heart of the new HEC Campus.
It also means fostering the development of essential skills in systemic decision-making and encouraging dialogue between academic, economic, and civic communities.
